I heard Permafrost's damage isn't great, but I might try it out. Might be useful to finish off runners, too. Only half a second added each point you put in it. Frenzy Mastery looks like a filler-skill to me. I guess I'll be doing less auto attacks than I thought.Īdded Battle Rage, that makes total sense. I might not put more than 5 points in it, but I still want to try it out.ĭoes Red Wolf only proc on melee attacks? If so, I'm dropping it and Shred Armor. I really like it for the healing it provides, since zerkers are pretty squishy. Shadow Burst's mana cost shouldn't be a problem on a focus build, I hope. You're right about feeling REALLY weak early on.

Not using Frost Breath makes sense, maybe I'll try using Stormclaw until I can unlock Northern Rage. Wow, thank you so much for the detailed reply! Originally posted by Demystificator: text

You could even have both a Dual Wield in one box then switch to a Polearm for the other box. If you want to stay at a safe range for Melee combat then use a Two Handed Polearm. If you have to add Ice Damage then just choose the faster Weapons. Weapon Speed matters regardless if it be a Two or One Hander.Ī faster than average Two Hander may be better than a slower than average One Hander Dual Wield if you can ensure higher Ice Damage is already installed in the base Weapon. Increasing more Focus from Enchants and Gear is equally good often even better as an option at times. Ice will be your largest source of Damage (Physical Weapons will contribute good Damage too). Shadow Burst will guarantee your best escape at all times. the Tundra Skills chosen are Melee range so the fighting will be close quarters combat which is worth noting. So would this make for a good build for a focus berserker? What kind of weapons would be ideal? Can I use 2handers, or are two 1-handed weapons with +ice bonuses better? I've been going through the class guides trying to make a Tundra Berserker build that focuses on. If you're okay with reroll / farming ways : one of the 2 blacksmiths (the lightning one, with the hammer) in Temple Steppes has an eye that gives +15 Ice Damage into weapon, +15% Ice Damage into amor !! It's a must have. Yet, the later in the game, the more Northern Rage will do more damage than DPS value meaning you could get a Staff with "+% Ice damage" or "+% All Damage" instead of best dps weapon.Īlso, the biggest con with that build is that you'll feel very weak till lv21. But don't be afraid to change to physical weapon + gems in early game as you may not find good Ice Staves all along. Ice Staff, if you max asap Cold Steel Mastery. Glacial Shatter : Never tried it but maybe a good crowd control skill. Ravage : Big armor reduction before Northern Rage. Always frustating to get knocked back while casting northern rage. Battle Standard : Mana regen ! And knockback resistance. Things I haven't tried but could be cool : Also it has chance to freeze ennemies, making Shatter Storm easier to trigger. Permafrost : Big DoT for ennemies would escape Northern Rage. It will trigger Shred Armor, Blood Hunger, Rampage (as long as you have a melee weapon equipped). Storm Hatchet : Crowd Control and Charge filler. Frenzy Mastery : Zerk Charge Bar increases critical chance of every attacks, even Northern Rage. I'd put some points into that to 10 or 15% chance to trigger. Rampage will trigger on Northern Rage (as long as you get melee weapon equipped) and increases your DPS, buffing a little your skill but also make you run faster to stick to ennemies or run away. Classic move : Shadow burst / Savage Rush into ennemies -> Howl -> Northern Rage. Northern Rage works better when surrounded ennemies so it combo well with Battle Rage. If you go with Auto attack, it's whether you have mana leech or health leech for a duel. Thing is Northern Rage does HUGE damage, especially on Focus + Cold Steel Mastery. I think you shouldn't put too much points into auto-attack skills like Shred Armor or Red Wold. Yet 15 points is a lot as level 1 gives you already 100% Immobilize. Yet it still works well with Northern Rage. If you one-shot an ennemy with ice damage, it won't trigger, you need to freeze it before killing it. Same goes with Shadow Burst high cost will make it tedious to use when needed.

Unless you want to combo with a polearm and even though, not 15points. Same damage increasing than Howl, but 4 seconds where Howl is 13s and has better range. Imo, Howl is enough.įrost Breath consumes 50 mana ! For 37% of DPS damage. So I don't know about Frost Breath + Howl. For what I tried, Northern Rage will end being the main damage source.
